Tin (IV) Chloride, also known as Stannic Chloride or Tin Tetrachloride, is a colorless to pale yellow, strong-smelling liquid. Its chemical formula is SnCl₄, where tin (Sn) has an oxidation state of +4. It reacts vigorously with water and produces fumes, which is why it is referred to as a “Fuming Liquid.” It is mainly used in chemical synthesis, organic reactions, glass coating, textile processing, and laboratory applications.
